Although still as controversial a subject as ever, drones aren’t going anywhere. While we can certainly continue to debate and consider the more problematic elements of drone usage, this doesn’t mean we can’t also focus on some of the cooler aspects.
For example, imagine how drones are already benefitting aerial photography. You certainly can’t disregard their potential good for search and rescue missions. Even real estate agents and safety inspectors are looking into how drones can help them to be more efficient at their jobs.
However, through all of this, it’s important to remember that drones are still best used as delivery devices. To that end, there are some really interesting possibilities out there.
The list of things you can theoretically deliver from one location to another is already pretty impressive. As time goes on, we can expect to not only see the technology behind drones improve, but also that list of things that drones can deliver. Keeping that thought in mind, here are the 3 most interesting uses of drone delivery that we have seen so far:
Medicine: We are already seeing some extraordinary breakthroughs with drones and disease prevention, to say nothing of the ideas that are being explored. At the moment, we can already see drones being used as an effective means of medicine delivery. Perhaps more importantly, we can also see drone delivery being able to work with medicines that might be extremely fragile in some form or fashion.
Food: Getting your next food order delivered via drone is certainly an appealing notion. This is just one possibility with drone delivery and food. As a food delivery system, you can imagine the recreational perks pretty easily. At the same time, we can also pretty easily imagine food delivery from a humanitarian perspective. Drone technology is proving that it can handle increasingly fragile, complex food delivery demands.
Consumer goods: We’ve already seen Amazon and other companies play around with this possibility. Companies that need something in less than an hour love the idea of being able to place their order, and expect a rapid turnaround with delivery. Drone delivery could also save your figurative neck during the busy holiday season.
These are just a few of the benefits that people are getting excited about these days. Within all of those ideas mentioned above, it isn’t hard to envision drones in a wide range of intriguing scenarios.
